The Boot Hill Museum project is part of the Dodge City STAR Bond Project Plan for the Heritage District completed in year 2019. Their mission is “to preserve the Old West through exhibits, education and entertainment reflective of the area’s rich heritage”. The new facility will feature paces for permanent and traveling exhibits, expanded gift shop, lobby, trail-themed ramp to the Entry building and covered patio so visitor’s can enjoy Street-front activities such as gunfight re-enactments. The current People of the Plains exhibit will be relocated to the new facility.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the final project.
“GMCN Architects provided architectural services for our school district as we built a 10,000 square foot addition to our existing facility. The challenge was the build an addition that didn’t look like an addition. To complicate the matter, the existing building is a LEED Platinum K-12 facility with numerous sustainable features. I can honestly say we couldn’t be more pleased with the final project.”
Darin Headrick, Former Superintendent, USD 422 Kiowa County

“After a bond election that failed miserably two years prior to our new partnership, GMCN Architects came in and immediately listened to key stakeholders and arrived at a plan that was both economically viable while addressing key issues that ultimately lead to a successful bond being passed. It is this listening approach to design that makes them unique to others.”
