The Refinery Field House & Event Center

Located adjacent to Parrot Cove Water Park, this state-of-the-art facility brings together a diverse set of uses under one roof, all designed with flexibility and longevity in mind.

A Space to Move, Play, and Perform

At the heart of the project is the Field House, an expansive indoor athletics space designed to support year-round programming. The space includes:

  • Full courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball
  • Indoor turf adaptable for soccer, football, and baseball
  • A suspended walking track
  • Ample spectator zones and equipment storage

The interior layout was developed to foster visibility, safety, and multi-sport adaptability—key for a region where weather often limits recreational access.

A Venue Built for Celebration

Connected to the field house is a fully equipped Event & Conference Center—offering more than 11,000 square feet of flexible event space. This venue was designed to accommodate:

  • Weddings and social gatherings
  • Corporate meetings and workshops
  • Community banquets and fundraisers

Acoustic treatment, integrated AV infrastructure, and divisible room configurations were essential design elements to ensure the space serves both intimate and large-scale gatherings.

Purpose-Driven Design

Our team approached this project with a clear vision: to design a space that can evolve with its community. Natural daylighting, clear navigation, durable materials, and understated branding all serve to make the building feel inviting, accessible, and modern—while remaining deeply functional.

From the athletic courts to the banquet tables, every space at The Refinery is about bringing people together—under one thoughtfully crafted roof.

Project Team

We are honored to partner with an incredible team of builders, engineers, city staff, and community leaders who have helped bring this vision to life. As the project approaches completion, we look forward to seeing The Refinery host everything from championship games to milestone celebrations.

The Refinery is scheduled to open its doors in Fall 2025, becoming a landmark destination for Garden City and beyond.

We’re proud to share our design for The Refinery Field House & Event Center—a transformative, multipurpose venue currently under construction in Garden City. From its earliest concepts, The Refinery has been envisioned as more than just a facility. It’s a hub for connection—between athletics and celebration, community and commerce, form and function.
